Build Windows 7 PE (X86 only) without WAIK

Every Windows 7 has equipped with Windows PE (Winre) as a recovery tools that can be access from install DVD, recovery folder or system repair cd.
All those Winre image are the same image except start with different shell.

Windows 7 also has Dism to mount/unmount wim image, all of that resources (winre and dism) can be use to build custom Windows 7 PE without downloading WAIK.

I made a batch command to build custom Windows 7 PE using winre image, mount wim image using dism, add additional file/registry, save wim image and create bootable ufd using diskpart to be used with Windows 7 PE.
it has additional tasks also to make back up entry of installed Windows 7 so you can use UFD to boot current windows 7.

limitations:
-My_7PE can only be run on windows 7 or windows 7 PE
-My_7PE support WIndows 7 32 bit only
My_7PE tested on Windows 7 en-US only, but it supposed to automatically detect distribution language and international settings, please let me know if does not work for others distribution languages.

Part 1 of 4: Download Windows 7

The fastest way to download Windows 7 is using BitTorrent, which is a P2P protocol for file sharing. Not only BitTorrent provides high speed of download for popular files, but it also gives you the opportunity to improve other people's download speed.



To download files using BitTorrent you need an application that supports the BitTorrent protocol (called a "BitTorrent client"). The best BitTorrent client is BitComet. But also feel free to use any other BitTorrent client.

Once you have a BitTorrent client, download the tiny ".torrent" file bellow that belong to the version that you want (32 bits or 64 bits). This file will be directly opened with your BitTorrent client and the download will start instantly. The magnet link is another method to start downloading a file with your BitTorrent client.

Those 2 ISOs above allow you to have Windows in any language that you want (35 languages available).

These ISOs also allow you to install any edition that you want (Ultimate, Professional, Home Premium, Home Basic, Starter).

Note: By default it will install the Ultimate edition.

Part 2 of 4: Check the authenticity

It is absolutely crucial that you check the authenticity of the ISO you just downloaded. You must check that it hasn't been modified by anyone, that it's clean from spywares and viruses, and that it is free from corruption or any transfer error.

To confirm the authenticity of the ISO you downloaded, all you have to do is to make sure that it is exactly (bit for bit) the same as the one Microsoft provides. We can know that two files are identical by matching their hashes. The hash of a file is the result of its calculation. Each file has a unique hash, if the file is modified (even only by 1 bit) then its hash will be completely different.

Microsoft provides through his website (http://blogs.technet.com/[...] and http://technet.microsoft.com/[...]) the official hashes for all the Windows 7 ISOs. Please check the hash of the ISO that you have downloaded using HashCheck ( direct download — instructions) or any other hash calculator, and verify that it is the same as the ones provided by Microsoft:

Part 3 of 4: Install Windows 7

You have 2 options to install Windows 7. You can simply burn the ISO to a DVD (Scroogle: How to burn an ISO to a DVD), or you caninstall Windows 7 from a USB flash drive instead of a DVD.

Insert the Windows 7 installation disk into your drive and restart your computer. Press any key when asked to launch the installation (Scroogle: How to boot from a DVD). You might need to change the boot priority in your BIOS in order to boot from your DVD drive or from your USB flash drive (Scroogle: Change boot priority order).

During the installation, you do not need to enter any product key, just bypass the step when it asks for one. You might also untick the "activate online" checkbox.



Part 4 of 4: Activate Windows 7

The safest method to activate Windows 7 is using a software called a "loader". It is safe because whatever happen this is only software so even if it doesn't work you will be able to uninstall it and continue to use your computer.

It is also the most reliable software method available today. This method has been working for Windows Vista for more than 3 years (and counting) and has proven its reliability and efficiency. This is a mature technology to activate Windows, it works with Windows 7 32 and 64 bits on any computer (homemade or branded) and even on Macintosh. Nothing special is required before using a loader.

You're invited to download and install the Windows 7 Loader created by Daz, which is currently the most popular loader. However if you want to try another one, there are other loaders (including open-source ones).

G20 police shot rubber bullets, woman says

(Submitted by Natalie Gray) A 20-year-old environmental activist from B.C. is suing the Toronto Police Service, claiming she was hit by two rubber bullets during a G20 summit protest.

"I hit the ground. It's hard to describe how it feels getting shot," said Natalie Gray of Maple Ridge, B.C., about 40 kilometres east of Vancouver.
Gray was one of about 150 protesters who marched on a police-approved route to a former Toronto film studio that was converted into a temporary detention centre on June 28, the final day of the G20 meetings.
The protest and police reaction were captured on video by the media.
Half an hour after protesters arrived at the jail, police moved in. As the demonstrators were shouting their slogans, a pair of unmarked vans suddenly appeared and screeched to a stop.

"And my friend hears a cop order coming from the back: 'The girl with the blue hair, the girl with the blue hair.' And that was when I got shot," said Gray, who had two blue ponytails sprouting from the top of her head.

As she tried to get up, uniformed police moved in, slammed her face into the pavement and knelt on her back.
"I have never been so terrified in my life," she said. "I immediately lost control of my bladder and the officers are yelling at me, 'Stop resisting, stop resisting.' And I'm saying, 'I'm not resisting. Please be gentle. Please be careful.'"
Gray was later charged with obstructing a peace officer, one of nearly 1,000 people arrested before or during the G20 summit.
Police claimed the shots were "muzzle blasts" — harmless blanks meant to scare protesters, not hurt them. They deny using rubber bullets.
But photographs of Gray's wounds taken by an emergency room doctor show she was indeed injured in the chest and arm.
"It hurt so much when it first happened and then nothing. And I was just kind of paralyzed. But as soon as I got shot, there was an incredible amount of pain in my abdomen."
Gray has hired high-profile human rights lawyer Clayton Ruby, who said he's launching a lawsuit against the police department.
Toronto lawyer David Midanik also said he has a client who is suing, claiming he was shot in the face by a rubber bullet. There is also reported be a class-action suit in the works.
The police are advising anyone with an abuse allegation to file a report with the Office of the Independent Police Review Director.

What is CUDA?

CUDA (an acronym for Compute Unified Device Architecture) is a parallel computing architecture developed by NVIDIA. CUDA lets programmers utilize a dedicated driver written using C language subroutines to offload data processing to the graphics processing hardware found on Nvidia's latemodel GeForce graphics hardware. The software lets programmers use the cards to process data other than just graphics, without having to learn OpenGL or how to talk with the card specifically. Since CUDA tools first emerged in late 2006, Nvidia's seen them used in everything from consumer software to industrial products, and the applications are limitless.
